“Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us.” - Martin Luther
At Ashby Church of England Primary School, the teaching of music presents a universal language by which all children are inspired to achieve their full potential, challenge their creative minds, and encourage the success of those around them. Our high-quality music education aims to engage children with a vast array of musical genres from different periods and places, thus building a rich musical canon for learning inside and outside the classroom environment.
Our curriculum ensures pupils progressively develop subject knowledge and skills needed for composition, performance and discrimination of music heard. Our children will grow a life-long love of music that progresses them not only as musicians, but as individuals that have had ample opportunity for team-working, leadership, decision-making and creative and critical thinking.
At Ashby CofE we are singers! As part of both our music curriculum, curriculum enrichment opportunities and through our collective workshop we all perform both inside and outside of our school building.
“You have filled my heart with greater joy” Psalm 4:7
