Swimming Lessons

Pupils from Year 3 upwards attend Swimming Lessons at Hood Park Leisure Centre and are taught by trained Leisure Centre staff.  We  follow the LEA swimming scheme which compliments after school swimming and the cost includes an LEA swimming certificate.  Each class attends for a block of 8 weeks during the acedemic year,  a letter will be sent to you prior to your child's swimming lessons beginning.

We do request a voluntary contribution of £3 per lesson to help cover the costs of pool hire and we ask that payment is made via Parent Pay.

For safety reasons the LEA advise against the wearing of swimming goggles.  If you would still like your child to wear goggles you must return a completed consent form which can be downloaded below, alternatively a paper copy can be collected from the school office.

Please note, swimming is a National Curriculum requirement.

Swimming kit should include:-

Towel, Brush or Comb, Trunks (no long Bermuda shorts please)

1 piece costume for girls NO EARRINGS!  (they must be removed)

No sprays, deodorant etc please!  Please send the kit in a named bag with a  LARGE plastic carrier bag as well.
