Helpful online safety resources

'Be the change: unite for a better internet'.

Online safety

Social media is a huge part of daily life and we all have a duty to ensure that the children are using it safely.  We are aware that some of our older children are sharing text messages and placing videos on public platforms and apps.  Some of the apps / forums being used do come with an age restriction of 12+ because of the content that can be found on them.  Whilst some of these apps appear fun and harmless any user is able to follow a profile if their account is set to public.

If your child has a phone, tablet or laptop and is using social media and popular apps such as Tik Tok and You Tube, it is a good idea to ensure parental controls and proper privacy settings are in place and to make regular checks to see what your child is accessing online.  We have already tweeted a Tik Tok safety leaflet.  If you would like a paper copy of the leaflet then please pop in to Reception.
