At Ashby Church of England Primary School, our computing curriculum aims to develop children into confident users of technology through developing their skills and knowledge in the three main computing strands set out in the National Curriculum: Computer Science, Digital literacy and Information Technology.
We see computing education as an integral part of preparing our children to live and work in a world where technology is continuously evolving. We endeavor to ensure that our children fully grasp the relevance of and the possibilities of emerging technologies so that they can play a part in this rapidly changing landscape.
Our computing curriculum is structured to build upon children’s knowledge and understanding and our children build knowledge of how digital systems and programming work. We want our children to become confident, creative and independent learners that are able to solve problems with computational thinking and know technology can allow children to express themselves creatively.
