“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” – Marie Curie
Our science curriculum at Ashby-de-la-Zouch Church of England Primary School seeks to inspire students’ curiosity and wonder about the world we live in, encouraging pupils to ask questions ‘like a scientist’ and understand how science has changed our world and is crucial to its future. It aims to make science relevant to our pupils and develop a solid grounding in scientific knowledge and understanding. Our science curriculum sets out clearly the knowledge and skills that pupils gain at each stage of their learning journey. There are clear end points that the curriculum is building towards, which have been carefully sequenced so that pupils progress well over time. We aim to ensure that through working scientifically, planning investigations, undertaking research and analysing findings, our children can be inspired by STEM career paths.
